Gods Plan our Pain

Gen 40:14-15;41:9-16,32-36,38-41,53-54
Prayer: May we find the truth in your word and be transformed.
Truths To Learn:
God's Plan is for ultimate good
Begin to practice humility

Introduction:
Real Life Scenarios - Everything has a good ending, but not always a happy one (Romans 8:28)

Getting Real: We are going to work at answering your hard questions:
Q: How do we know someone didn't make all of this (Bible, Jesus and Stuff) stuff up?
A: We often talk about the predictions made about the Messiah in the old testament that were fulfilled by Jesus as recorded in the NT. Does it every worry you that maybe they made up the predictions after he walked the earth? Do you know about the Dead Sea Scrolls.
A: We have our own life changing encounter with Jesus that is real and unmistakeably God. We will start to share our experiences. Who wants to go first?

Explore:
Talk about where we have been in Joseph's life. What do they remember (brothers resentment partially spurned by his arrogance, cruelty by brother's to the extent of selling to slavery, forgiveness of his brother's, appointment by Potiphar to tend his house and then his false imprisonment) We pick up with how Joseph handles himself in prison:
Gen 40:14-15;41:9-16,32-36,38-41,53-54

Transformation: Let's Do Something to be changed
Twist on Casting all Cares. We will read 1 Peter 5:6,7 and have students confess in writing an area where they have struggled to be humble and and or something they are being anxious about. Have the students break into there accountability groups, have a time of confession and prayer. Remind students to share there phone numbers and call one another during the week.

These are my notes in preparation for leading a bible study created by studentlifebiblestudy.com most thoughts are borrowed from their excellent work.
